ENRICHMENT PROGRAMMES

Our Enrichment Programs are learning opportunities for deepening understanding of research subject areas, expanding experience and providing elements of higher education programmes of study.

Our itineraries are tailored to the needs of the student group around a chosen theme in close collaboration with the academic teaching faculty.

  • We design a programme of activities for examining issues in locations that align to the programme of study. Activities involve field work, research and data collection, alongside focussed discussion exploring the changing dynamics of India’s modern context within the chosen theme. We enable connections with academics and professionals within the field to establish collaborations and initiate dialogue.

  • We arrange and facilitate alternative school experiences which are short term teaching practice placements for students seeking an alternative experience within a contrasting educational context. We work closely with local institutions to develop mutually beneficial learning opportunities. We coordinate closely with the Universities, finding appropriate placements which suit the needs and requirements of their students, fully supporting the students throughout the experience.

Arts residency

This 20 day residency is an opportunity for art students and creative practitioners who wish to explore contemporary art in Karnataka and Kerela and have a space for new creative expression, whilst engaging in community art projects.

The residency aims to develop and produce creative responses to space, light and tradition.

  • The artist residency welcomes art students and creative practitioners wishing to learn about contemporary art in southern India and engage in community-based art projects. Participants will collaborate with local artists to develop a community-based art project. The residency includes visits to key contemporary art sites in southern India and offers guidance on participants' artistic processes, as well as exposure to the art scenes in Karnataka and Kerala. The residency culminates in an art exhibition.

  • The residency is planned during 20 days in January 2025.

  • The residency will include excursions to points of interest within Karnataka and Kerela with a week long trip to Kochi. Each location will involve examining specific place-based changing issues reflecting on context, causes and impacts, and how places are shaped, perceived and represented.

The past ten days have been a truly wonderful and eye opening experience! Learning about India from the safe haven of ‘The Land’ has been an excellent introduction to travelling. I feel that the more I have learnt - the more there is to discover... I hope to come back and continue exploring. Thank you so much for the warm welcome, the time you have spent taking us places and answering our questions. The food was amazing!
